J&P Coats 7168 is a close match in the turquoise zone. Turquoise is one of the more position-sensitive colors in embroidery — small variations in the blue-to-green ratio can shift the color’s perceived identity from tropical-water turquoise to teal, peacock blue, or sea-green, each of which carries different associations and design implications. Some variation in the blue-to-green ratio compared to DMC is possible in this substitute, so evaluate the color in the context of your design’s other blues and greens before deciding whether it reads as the right transitional tone.
