DMC 772 to Cosmo: Thread Conversion

Cosmo 116 is a close match for DMC 772 Very Light Yellow Green. Pale yellow-greens can shift subtly toward more yellow or more green depending on brand formulation and batch, and at this very pale value the shift is proportionally more visible than it would be in a deeper, more saturated green. A close substitute that reads slightly more yellow than the DMC original may look unintentionally bright or sunny rather than fresh and botanical; one that reads slightly more purely green may lose the specifically new-growth quality and read as just a pale green rather than as the distinctively pale-yellow-green of brand-new leaves. Check Cosmo 116 against your other palette greens in natural daylight before committing to large leaf fill areas, specifically evaluating whether it reads as fresh, slightly yellow-tinted green (correct for 772’s role) or as pale-yellow (too much yellow, lost the green) or as pale green (too purely green, lost the yellow-tint freshness). For spring floral SALs where 772 is one of several greens in the foliage palette, this evaluation in context with the adjacent greens is more informative than comparing to DMC 772 directly. Cosmo’s silky finish can give pale yellow-greens a luminous quality that is pleasant in spring display work. For standalone new-growth accent use in small quantities, the close match is workable without extensive testing.
